Innovation
Innovation is at the heart of Axys’ processes. Whether our recommendations concern human development, technology, organisation or our customers’ products and services, we always try to introduce a dose of innovation.
A few examples of innovation success stories
- On the human leverage, innovations in training methods with augmented reality sessions,
- On the technological leverage, the use of artificial intelligence and robotics to optimise the performance of the solution,
- On the organisational leverage, the supervision and optimisation of processes through process mining,
- On the product leverage, creating new markets for our customers using open digital platforms or blockchain.
Axys was also a pioneer in the use of agile methods in the early 2000s, and in the deployment of ERP systems in the 1990s.
Our innovation centre: a place of creativity for and with our customers
« 79% of companies prioritise innovation during economic downturns. At Axys, we invite you to innovate continuously and incrementally. »
Jean-Marc GUIDICELLI, Partner & Data – Digital expert
In 2018, we created an Artificial Intelligence laboratory. The aim: to create AI solutions with and for our customers and to embed AI in our practices and those of our customers. A few years later, we have produced some fine solutions:
- An application for transcribing and summarising meetings, even before the advent of generative AI
- Optimised planning of sorting centres
- Journey time predictions for ADP customers
- Detecting fraud
- Site audience scoring
Today, the AI LAB is evolving and taking a new direction with a new name: the Innovation Center. Still driven by the aim of co-creating AI solutions, it has also been enriched by skills in generative AI and web 3. Our latest innovations: bots trained on knowledge bases during the roll-out of a new project or simply to inform your customers and your talents. We have also developed an AI capable of detecting emotions in prosody, based on the same technological building blocks as ChatGPT. We are also working with one of our customers to display certified documents using blockchain.
The Innovation Centre is also based on strong data governance principles. Because without strong governance and quality data, it’s impossible to achieve quality results.
How does an innovative approach come about?
When an innovation is born, we always have a pain point or a strong desire to transform ourselves so as not to be disrupted by innovative, digital-native start-ups.
« Necessity is the mother of innovation. »
Platon.
For one of our customers, the idea was simply to say: what could we do in our sector of activity with blockchain? We then studied the benefits of blockchain, carried out a comparative study of the services provided by our customer and came back to them with a dozen or so proposals. A discussion workshop, a prospective study and a business opportunity study to ensure that the idea is in line with the market and financial imperatives.
Generally speaking, the bread point gives birth to an idea in a process of ideation. The monitoring and experimentation we carry out on technologies, managerial approaches and business sectors enables us to d’être force de proposition.
Open ecosystems, the main key success factor for innovation.
30% of companies cite a lack of skills as a barrier to innovation. Ecosystems help to overcome this.
Because creating, innovating, and stabilizing an innovative solution is a long process, at Axys, we prefer to rely on the contribution of ecosystems. Each member of our ecosystem plays a crucial role and brings their share of expertise:
- Our functional consultants bring business knowledge
- Clients, and sometimes the clients of our clients, bring the needs
- Our technology partners provide services that can be integrated via API
- Academic researchers bring new methods and support to overcome scientific barriers
- Influence networks, actors facing the same issues
Beyond expertise, an ecosystem allows us to exchange ideas, improve them collaboratively, and constantly pivot to have the right solution within a limited time-to-market.
What does Product Design bring to innovation?
Product Design is a methodology that aims to place the customer at the heart of the innovation and creation process. In a nutshell, you confront the innovative idea with your clients’ expectations during Focus Group workshops. It is your clients who make you pivot and improve your initial idea. After the Focus Groups (workshops with a panel of clients), there is a convergence phase between client needs, your capabilities, and the strategy you wish to deploy. At this point, it is important to open up to partners to implement your solution in a reduced time-to-market or simply to distribute your new offer.
In Product Design, the design phase is not the only phase during which you involve your clients. They intervene throughout the process. At the end of each sprint, you confront your results with the panel.
